You are added to that tier's waitlist in the order your application was received, and notified the moment a spot opens. Ambassador members are also placed on the waitlist for the Reserve tier for golf access, ordered by seniority.
No. Membership is nationwide. Golf events rotate between destinations across the country, and bottles are available through online partners including Bourbon Outfitters, Seelbach's and Rare Pours, as well as store partners in South Carolina and other partner states.
Yes. You must be 21 years of age or older to join, and you confirm this when you apply. Ophelia Social Club asks all members to drink responsibly.
Events rotate annually and have included Harbour Town Golf Links, the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, Brickyard Crossing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Las Vegas. Harbour Town Golf Links remains a mainstay of the yearly rotation.
After their first three months, Founders and Reserve members receive a voucher for one golf outing per year. Founders vouchers have first priority. If unused vouchers do not fill all available spots, members may attend more than one event.
Yes. Members have access to an annual private Texas Hold'em poker tournament in Las Vegas, held in casinos such as The Cosmopolitan or Fontainebleau, along with access to most Las Vegas restaurants and clubs. Members also receive partner offers, VIP access and special events through the year.
Members can purchase exclusive single barrels, Ophelia curated blends, and allocated bottles. Partner distilleries include Heaven Hill, Augusta Distillery, ASW, Driftless Glen, Nashville Barrel, Dark Arts, Angel's Envy, Jack Daniel's, Evernorth Spirits and Highwire Distillery, among others.
When partner distilleries make limited-edition bottles available — anywhere from a few bottles to several cases — they go to Founders and Reserve members first. Any bottles remaining are then made available to Ambassador members.
In most instances each member may choose one bottle during their tier's purchase window. If bottles remain after every member has had the opportunity to purchase, any member may buy any bottles still available.
Each tier's drawing is held four months after that tier fills, with two bottles given away per 100 members — a 1 in 50 chance to win. Members must be active and up to date on dues to be eligible. There is also a quarterly drawing open to the whole membership, for bottles such as Pappy Van Winkle, Parker's Heritage, King of Kentucky and BTAC releases.
Beginning in 2027, the Aureus Collection will be a series of five annual releases, each a small batch blend developed with partner distilleries: a straight bourbon, a straight rye, a wheated bourbon and two further releases. Every member will be able to buy at least one of each.
