Ophelia Social Club is a private golf and bourbon club operated by Ophelia Group, LLC, limited to 800 members nationwide. It brings together two things that usually require separate memberships: access to private golf events at courses including Harbour Town Golf Links and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, and a barrel program offering single barrel picks, curated blends and allocated bottles through partner distilleries.
Bourbon clubs sell bottles in a box. Golf clubs sell tee times. Ophelia Social Club was built on the observation that the same people were paying for both, and that neither membership gave them the thing they actually wanted: a short list of people to drink well and play well with, and genuine access to bottles and courses that are otherwise hard to reach.
The two halves reinforce each other. Distillery relationships open barrel picks that individuals cannot get alone. A defined, capped membership makes those barrels worth allocating. And a club with a real roster is a club a course will host.
Membership is capped at 800 nationwide and split across three tiers. Founders are the first 100 members and hold priority on every bottle drop. Reserve members are 101 through 300. Both are $125 per month and include golf. Ambassador members are bourbon-only at $75 per month, limited to 500.
Places are assigned first come, first served, in the order applications arrive. The club activates once 100 members have joined, at which point the $250 initiation becomes due and barrel selections and golf events are scheduled. The membership FAQ covers the mechanics in full.
The club's access comes from its distillery and course relationships. Single barrel and blend partners include:
Bottles reach members through online partners including Bourbon Outfitters, Seelbach's and Rare Pours, alongside store partners in South Carolina and other partner states. Golf events rotate annually and have included Harbour Town Golf Links, the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, Brickyard Crossing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Las Vegas.
No payment is collected on the membership application. Applying confirms your place in line, nothing more, and the initiation fee only becomes due once the club reaches its activation threshold — with 14 days' notice to decide.
The membership caps are fixed rather than aspirational: they are what makes a limited number of bottles meaningful to the people holding a membership. Allocated releases go to Founders and Reserve members first, with anything remaining offered to Ambassador members, and in most cases each member takes one bottle per window before any second bottles are released.
